Portugal Legends Championship: Golf’s Greats Come to Comporta
The inaugural Portugal Legends Championship brings the Staysure Legends Tour to Portugal for the first time, at Pinheirinho Golf Course in Comporta, from 30 October to 1 November 2026.
About the Tournament
The Staysure Legends Tour is the European senior golf circuit, open to players aged 50 and over, with a membership that includes former Major winners, world number ones, and Ryder Cup players and captains; recent Legends Tour winners include Jamie Donaldson, Stewart Cink and Pádraig Harrington. The 2026 edition marks the tour’s Portuguese debut, with three days of competition set against the dunes and pine forests of one of Comporta’s newest golf addresses.
About Pinheirinho Golf Course
Designed by Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, Pinheirinho is an 18-hole, par 72 course carved through rolling dunes and pine forest half a kilometre from the Atlantic, with a 3.5-hectare lake in play across several holes. Originally built as part of a larger resort project, the course reopened in 2022 under new ownership, adding to Comporta’s growing reputation as a golf destination alongside Dunas and CostaTerra, both covered in our Comporta Effect feature.
Practical Information
The tournament runs from 30 October to 1 November 2026 at Pinheirinho Golf Course, within the Pinheirinho Comporta estate, around 100 km south of Lisbon.
